From The Rev…
Dear Friends
Do you know what I love about St. Mark’s Church? It’s not the building, nor is it the worship. Neither is it the programmes we offer. It’s the people. I love that we are this diverse, crazy bunch of God-followers, each with our own wonderful personalities. We are gifts to each other. I was reminded about this today, at our worship, when so many people gave of themselves. We have people who serve with a smile, people who can make people feel at home, people who can play, people who can sing, and people who can encourage. We are the body of Christ, and it fills me with a deep sense of pride (if I’m allowed to feel pride) to be serving alongside you.
This week has been busy, busy, busy. Much of it was spent readying the hall for our children’s groups. The two back rooms of the hall had become a bit of a dumping ground and needed to be cleared and cleaned. Then there was the room under the church (currently dubbed ‘the lower room’ or ‘den’). It was mouldy, smelly, and infested with cockroaches! A team of valiant volunteers scraped off the mould, scrubbed the walls with clorox, sorted, cleared, cleaned, and painted – and the result is stunning! Check out this photo! I bet that those of you who have ever been down there won’t recognise it!

It is now our very own youth venue complete with stage seating, beanbags, games, table football, a skate ramp, and more! How cool is that? And all three rooms were used on Sunday when 59 adults and 14 children attend our morning worship and café. God really is doing a new thing among us.
Mega Congratulations to Jeremy and Carol Medeiros who got married yesterday (Saturday). I was privileged to take the wedding at Spanish Point Boat Club. We wish them every blessing in their married lives together. The couple are good friends and next-door neighbours to us at The Rectory.
Although we have been connecting with many of you, there are still many of you we are yet to meet properly. We’d love to get to know you! So, please, if you yourself, or you know of someone, that would appreciate a call or a chat, please get in touch. Our phone number is 236-8360.
Please do continue to pray for the mission and ministry of St. Mark’s Church – particularly our vital work with children and families, and our work with The Lord’s Larder. Have a blessed week, and don’t forget to invite your friends, neighbours, and colleagues to our café which takes place from 8.30am on Sunday.
Yours in Christ
Revd Gavin and Helen Tyte
